Bloekom

Layered marks and muted tones build a surface that feels worn and remembered. Referencing the vertical rhythm and texture of tree bark, the work holds a sense of time passing through accumulation rather than depiction. It reflects an early stage in my visual language, where memory and material begin to settle into form.

Created as an acrylic monotype with ink markings, the image was built through layering and selective removal, allowing texture and trace to guide the composition.

The artwork is framed in a slim contemporary Kiaat wood frame using Art Glass.
