Vertical forms sit closely together, echoing the upright rhythm of birch trunks. The tactile surface highlights the connection between nature and memory.
Created through a subtractive monotype process, the image is built and lifted by hand. Once the print was pulled, additional markings were made directly onto the surface, allowing the surface to be reworked and refined in response to the initial impression.
This work was created under my former pseudonym Lia Elden, derived from my first name, Danielle. I will not produce any future artworks under this name.
The artwork is framed in a slim contemporary black aluminium frame using Art Glass.
